After You Apply
The admissions process begins when you submit an application to a program and ends when you meet the admission requirements and accept an offer to that program. You must be admitted into a program before moving on to the registration process.
Email admissions: Please include your student number and the program and campus to which you have applied, in order to receive faster service.

July, August and September are our busiest times of the year and it may take us a while to get back to you.
We suggest that you browse the OC website. You may just find an answer to your question.
Step 1 - Submit required items
Admissions will send you correspondence by email informing you of outstanding items and deadlines.
Only submit items that are asked for (Note: do not get a criminal record check unless requested to do so by Admissions)
Failure to list and provide transcripts from all institutions you attended on your application may be considered an intentional omission and will lead to the cancellation of your application for admission or withdrawal of your offer of admission.

How to submit a transcript and interims
When you are prompted by an email from ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ to request a transcript, access the
- Select ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ as the institution you want your final transcript sent to.
- If you’re a current high school student, within the send options select: Send Interim and Final Marks when they become available.
Your transcript will be sent immediately to ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ electronically from the Ministry of Education and we will request an update at the end of the academic school year.
Applied to more than one campus or program?
If you have applied to more than one campus or program, you only need to submit your final transcript once.
Current high school students can request their high schools to send interim transcripts to admissions@okanagan.bc.ca or by mail to any campus.
Final, official transcripts should be sent directly to ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ by the Ministry of Education of your province or territory, or by your school or school board for Ontario students. Search online for transcript ordering instructions from your province’s Ministry of Education to find out how to request an official transcript.
Transcripts must come directly from the Ministry of Education or other official issuing body to be accepted as official. Refer to your offer of admission for the deadline to submit your final official transcript.
Applied to more than one campus or program?
If you have applied to more than one campus or program, you only need to submit your final transcript once.
If you have been out of high school for two years or more you will need to contact your school district, the Ministry of Education, or the post-secondary institution you last attended and request that your transcript be sent to the College admissions office. Transcripts must be mailed in a sealed unopened envelope from your school district, the Ministry of Education, or the post-secondary institution you attended in order to be accepted as official. Transcripts should be sent to the College Admissions Office of the campus you are applying to, addressed "Attention: Admissions," by the deadline date indicated on your offer of admission.

Currently enrolled at another post-secondary institution?
If you are currently enrolled in at another post-secondary institution and interim transcript have been requested, you will need to request these from your current school and have them sent via mail in a sealed, unopened envelope.
Currently enrolled in high school
An interim high school transcript of grades is required. B.C. high school students may order transcripts through the . For out of province applicants, interim transcripts through your school district or directly from your school are accepted.
We also require interim grades for courses that you are currently enrolled in. This must be collected directly from your school. Speak with your high school counsellor or office to have these interim transcripts emailed as a PDF attachment to admissions@okanagan.bc.ca.
The deadline date to submit your interim transcript for the September start is February 28 by 4:30 p.m.
The deadline date to submit your interim transcript for the January start is July 31 by 4:00 p.m.
Please make sure that:
- All final and/or interim grades have been submitted for all academic courses. If interim Grade 12 grades are not available, please submit final Grade 11 grades.
- If not, see each of your teachers and have them enter the current grade percentage and initial beside their entry on the transcript.
- Take back to your school counsellor or office and have them submit the interim by one of the methods listed above.
- These grades must be submitted by the high school in any one of the methods listed above. Anything submitted that has been opened by the student will not be accepted.
Every academic course must have a grade (either an interim or a final grade). If there is no grade, the GPA cannot be calculated and you would then be considered inadmissible. Your application will be cancelled. Cancelled applications will not be reactivated.
Currently enrolled in only adult basic education courses
An interim transcript of grades is required.
The deadline date to have your interim grades submitted for September start is February 28 by 4:30 p.m.
The deadline date to submit your interim transcript for January start is July 31 by 4:00 p.m.
Have your post-secondary institution professor, instructor or teacher submit a pdf attachment to admissions@okanagan.bc.ca any and all ABE interim percentage grades. For Biology courses, this percentage grade must also include the lab.
Please make sure that:
- You see each of your teachers, instructors or professors to have them submit your interim ABE grade(s) by the method above.
- These grades must be submitted by the secondary/post-secondary institution. Anything coming otherwise will not be accepted.

Currently enrolled post-secondary students with upgrading courses
For the September intake Interim grades are only required for upgrading courses. The deadline date to have your interim grades submitted is February 28 by 4:30 p.m.
For the January intake Interim grades are only required for upgrading courses. The deadline date to have your interim grades submitted is July 31 by 4:00 p.m.
Have your post-secondary institution submit an official final or interim transcript showing final grades for courses completed and interim grades for courses in progress.
Have your post-secondary institution professor or instructor, or teacher submit by pdf attachment to admissions@okanagan.bc.ca any and all course interim percentage grades. For Biology and Chemistry courses, this percentage grade must also include the lab.
Please make sure that:
- Interim grades must be issued on or after February 6.
- See each of your instructors or professors to have them submit your interim grades by the method above.
- These grades must be submitted by the post-secondary institution. Anything coming otherwise will not be accepted.

Equivalent high school courses - Canada
Applicants educated outside of B.C. are required to present qualifications equivalent to those required for B.C. students. Applicants must present competitive grades in program specific prerequisite subjects, which vary by program.
Additional required items for admission
The results of tuberculin (TB) testing are an admission requirement and must be submitted to the Admissions office by the deadline indicated in myOkanagan. The remainder of the Immunization Record form will be collected by the department Chair once classes begin.

- Evidence of a negative tuberculin screening test (TB test), taken no more than six months before the date of application (and evidence of appropriate follow-up tests, if necessary)
- Proof of meeting current provincial immunization policies and guidelines by completing the ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ Immunization Record Form. Applicants are advised that, if they are unable to provide proof of immunization they may be restricted and/or excluded from clinical practice.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials (WHMIS) provincial course completion.
- All the B.C. Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum (PVPC) including the 8-hour in-person classroom course completion.
- Health Care Assistant Practice in BC E-Learning Modules completion.
- Recognizing and Responding to Adult Abuse course completion.
- Student Practice Education Core Orientation (SPECO) checklist completion.
- Medical Clearance

Step 2 - Accept your offer
Accept your offer in your > View my Applications, and pay your non-refundable deposit by the deadline (PayMyTuition), or in-person (cash or debit) and contact admissions@okanagan.bc.ca letting them know you have paid your deposit. Please include your student ID, program and campus in the email.
Offers of admission and other communication regarding your application will be sent via email.
Step 3 - Deposit information
To accept an offer of admission to most programs, you are required to pay a non-refundable tuition deposit. The deposit amounts below are for domestic student admission. Beginning Summer 2025, there will be one tuition deposit to accept your offer of admission.
- $500 tuition deposit for students of Practical Nursing, Access to Practical Nursing, all Engineering Technologies, Computer Information Systems degree and diploma, Animation, AME-M and AME-S
- No tuition deposit required for admission to Foundational programs such as Adult Upgrading, English as a Second Language (Domestic), Accessible Education and Training
- $200 tuition deposit for students of all other programs
Your offer of admission email will indicate the tuition deposit amount and the deadline to pay the deposit and accept your offer of admission to secure your seat in the program.
All students must accept their offer of admission via their > View my applications. Options for how to pay the tuition deposit are found here. If you pay online, send a screenshot of your payment confirmation to admissions@okanagan.bc.ca.
For Winter 2025 admission, some programs require a second deposit. Applicants will be informed via email of their second deposit due date and amount. In some cases where the start of the program is approaching, the first and second deposits will be due at the same time.

Alternative ways to meet admission requirements
Meet required admission items through testing
Satisfactory standing in basic math and reading tests can be used to meet the entrance to some Continuing Studies programs. Please see individual program listing for admission requirements to your program.

Applicants wishing to enter some Adult Upgrading (AU) courses may be required to complete a skills assessment test if they do not meet specific course prerequisites or to determine the level which would best suit their needs. Assessment dates and times are available at the Registrar's Office, campus offices, or online. Also see AU programs in the calendar for more information.

For applicants who are outside the OC region, they must find an invigilator in their area. The results need to be sent to admissions@okanagan.bc.ca by the invigilator.
All Office Administration testing is done online after you have applied and been issued a student ID number. To find out more about entrance tests please see Office Administration (OADM) Information and Entrance Testing (PDF).
Satisfactory standing in basic math and reading assessment can be used to meet the entrance to most Entry Level Training (Trades) programs. Please see individual program listing for admission requirements to your program.

Additional Information
In addition to the academic courses required for ranking in the Practical Nursing Program, applicants will be required to complete the PNUR 113 course with a minimum grade of 70 per cent .

Prerequisite: A minimum grade of 67 per cent in a Grade 12 Biology course which includes human anatomy and physiology or an equivalent Provincial Level Adult Basic Education Biology course. However, students with a minimum grade of 80 per cent in Biology 11 or an equivalent Advanced Level Adult Basic Education Biology course may take Biology 12 as a corequisite.

Low English or Math admit
Prior Learning Assessments (PLA) are available to students that apply to a program and that have some training or other non-formal experience in the area of the chosen program. For instance, if you have been a chef running a kitchen for a few years and decide to come to ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ for some formal culinary training, you may apply for a PLA on the basis of your years of experience. You may be granted credit for some of the courses in the program based on your experience.
PLA is available for some of courses in the following programs: Administrative Assistant Certificate, Health Care Assistant, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, Continuing Studies, Computer Science and Early Childhood Education.
Please contact the chair of the department that administers your program to determine which courses are available for PLA.
Note that students currently in high school very rarely have the experience necessary to be successful in a PLA.

A Visiting Student at ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ is a student who is currently undertaking a program of degree completion at another accredited post-secondary institution.
- Students are admitted based on a Letter of Permission from the home institution and are permitted to register in specific ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ courses as listed in the Letter of Permission.
- The Letter of Permission must state the session and year for which it is valid and is valid for one academic year only. And proof of satisfying all course prerequisites.
- If subsequent sessions are required, a new Letter of Permission must be submitted.
- No transfer credit will be awarded by ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ. The home institution will award the credit dependent on completion requirements.
